Description:

Don Jernigan, CEO of the largest Protestant healthcare system in the country, shows how any business—for-profit or not-for-profit—can exceed corporate metrics, fulfill mission, and drive results.

Companies both big and small often wrestle with a disconnect between their ideals of service excellence and the need to be an efficient and effective organization. Leaders are asking, “How do you find the critical balance between mission, metrics and money?” Dr. Jernigan shows how an organization’s culture can be molded to create high performance at every level, fulfilling mission and vision, while wisely utilizing – or stewarding – the limited resources of time, money, and energy.

Stories from his unique perspective leading a highly successful not-for-profit healthcare network vividly illustrate the lessons in this practical guide to reinvigorating your organization. The leadership principles of Relentless Stewardship can take any organization to world-class status in its industry.

>>>Every leader wants to be successful.

>>>Every leader wants to guide their organizatoin to achieve "best-in-class" performance.

>>> Every leader wants to make a difference for good.

While times may change, the need for effective organizations committed to an outstanding mission never will. The Hidden Power of Relentless Stewardship will help leaders have far-reaching impact.

“Leadership isn’t for the weak of heart or for the thin-skinned. Sometimes your practice of relentless stewardship will require you to make decisions that people may not like very much,” says Don Jernigan. “This is when you need to wear your organization’s mission like armor. Don’t knowingly let any of your leaders go into battle for a single day without the armor of your organization’s mission.”

“Jernigan effectively shares his years of leadership experience culminating in his presidency of the largest Protestant not-for-profit healthcare system in the United States.  He emphasizes the legitimate relationship between mission and money as the foundation for reliable stewardship of an organization’s resources in its pursuit of financial discipline and moral reasoning.  His leadership style is based on the two pillars of excellence and caring in building a healthcare facility committed to the healing ministry of Christ.” – ALLEN F. STEMBRIDGE, MBA, Ed.D., F.I.A.C., Dean, Emeritus and Professor of Management, Emeritus, Andrews University
